operations manager

Year-round. Working and skiing in Japan over winter.

We at Sherpas Ride run freeride ski/snb trips to Japan and ski-touring expeditions to Arctic Norway.  This year we are expanding with some new trips to the most exciting locations around the world. We are looking for an Operations and Marketing Coordinator with the possibility to go skiing and work in Japan over winter. Are you a skiing/snowboarding lover who wants to be a part of a unique project? Possibility of remote work.

 

what you need to have: 
  • Good organisation skills
  • Client orientation
  • Fluent English (written and verbal)
  • Good PC skills and familiarity with Google Sheets 
  • Interest in skiing or snowboarding
  • On/off line marketing skills / experience are nice to have but not essential
  • Drivers licence
  • Be able to be in Japan for at least 6 to 8 weeks

 

what are you going to do:
  • Helping with the preparation of our trips
  • Daily communication with guests
  • Organizational tasks regarding the camps (equipment distribution, invoicing, booking of hotels, administrative support)
  • Help with the day-to-day organization of the trips
  • Possibly taking care of Sherpas Ride social media (Instagram, Facebook) and marketing channels (newsletters, cooperations, partner deals etc.)

ski guide / mountain guide

Guiding in Japan and/or Ski and Sail trip in Norway

Season: Japan, Hokkaido and Honshu (January and February), Norway, Ski and Sail (March and April). We need you for at least 3 weeks in Japan and 2 weeks in Norway (if we are covering the flight)

 

what you need to have: 

For Japan – CAA Level 1, UIAGM or Ski Guide (ACMG, AMGA)

For Norway – UIAGM or Ski Guide (ACMG, AMGA)

Fluent English (verbal)

Strong client orientation

Outgoing attitude

 

what are you going to do:

Guiding skiers and snowboarders (lift-accessed freeride and ski touring)

Spending some extra time with guests (dinners – couple times a week)

You will be responsible for your group`s safety and will make sure they will have a great experience with us

Driving clients to resorts and ski-touring locations (Japan), in Norway this is taken care of by the skipper 🙂

Are you a skiing/snowboarding lover who wants to be a part of a unique project? Do you want to spend your winter in Japan? We at Sherpas Ride run freeride ski/snb trips to Japan and ski-touring expeditions to Arctic Norway.  This year we are expanding with some new trips to the most exciting locations around the world. We are looking for Breakfast Cook and Runner to work with us and stay in Japan (Hokkaido) between the end of December and the beginning of March.

 

your typical day will look like this:

5:30 _ wake up, drive to the clients’ house (5min drive)

6:00 _ some snow clearing might be needed

7:00 _ breakfast is ready

7:00 – 8:00 _ taking care of the clients while they eat their breakfast, providing refills etc.

8:00 – 8:30 _ making dishes after the BF or leaving the house with one of our groups

8:00 (8:30) – 14:30 (or later) free time _ most likely shredding powder in some of our destinations

Late afternoon – evening _ some are off, but most days there are some things to do 

(recycling, driving, further snow-clearing, some technical help, ski maintenance, and so on…)

 

possible tasks:
  • Cooking breakfast for our clients (continental breakfast – eggs, beans, vegetables etc.)
  • Cooking dinners and making a whole profit for yourself out of these dinners
  • Snow clearing
  • Driving clients
  • Help with day to day organization of the camps
  • If you have good organizational skills and fluent English there is a possibility for year-round work
